The Levitt BLOC Miami Music Series has two dates left. Its free summer-into-fall concert season ends on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, at the Urban Gym, the stretch of The Underline directly below Brickell Metrorail station. Once those two nights are over, Brickell's half-mile of the linear park will run without a headline series. What remains is a set of recurring free sessions on fixed days. They are smaller than a concert, and you can fit them around a work week.
That half-mile runs from the Miami River to SW 13th Street. The Miami Downtown Development Authority calls this first phase the Brickell Backyard. The second phase, from SW 13th Street to SW 19th Avenue, is the Hammock Trail. From November on, the Brickell Backyard is a weekly schedule more than an event venue, and it is useful to know which block hosts which day.
Halloween weekend all lands on one block
The season ends with a stack of events on the same few hundred feet of SW 1st Avenue. The Underline's concert page lists the remaining Levitt dates as a "Halloween Weekend Kickoff" on October 30 and "The Underline Takes Over Halloween" on October 31. It places them at the Urban Gym, nearest address 700 SW 1st Ave. The same page says the concerts go ahead rain or shine. It suggests arriving by Metrorail, bike or on foot, and points drivers to the Brickell City Centre garage or PayByPhone metered spaces on SW 1st Avenue.
The Brickell Homeowners Association has booked the same spot. Its fifth annual Not So Spooky Celebration is on Friday, October 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Underline Urban Gym, and you have to register in advance. The day before, Thursday, October 29, the association lists the 22nd Annual Halloween Boo Parade at 9 a.m. at Southside Preparatory Academy. The association says its events calendar is not a live feed and was last checked on September 26, so confirm times closer to the date.
The Levitt Foundation describes the series as rotating among five Underline sites: Inter Stage, Inter Grove Gallery, Underline Plaza, Rockridge Plaza and Play Forest. For its closing weekend, though, the Underline's own listing sends the music to Brickell. That puts three Halloween-week events within a short walk of each other.
The week that remains, by day
After October 31, The Underline's calendar is mostly sessions that repeat on the same weekday at the same plaza. Here is what is listed for Brickell and the stretch just south of it from mid-October through December:
| Day | Session | Time | Location | Dates listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wednesday | UPilates with LitPilates | 6–7 p.m. | Inter Stage, SW 8th St and SW 1st Ave | Oct. 14 through Nov. 18 |
| Wednesday | UDance Konpa, beginner four-week series | 7–8 p.m. | Inter Stage | Late Oct., Nov. and Dec. |
| Thursday | UYoga | 7–8 p.m. | Vizcaya Station Plaza, 3205 SW 1st Ave | Weekly |
| Saturday | The Underline Market | 9 a.m.–4 p.m. | Inter Stage, 805 SW 1st Ave | Weekly |
| Saturday | UYoga | 9–10 a.m. | Urban Gym, SW 1st Ave between SW 7th and SW 8th | Weekly |
Wednesday is the busiest evening at Inter Stage. On weeks when the Konpa series runs, the calendar has UPilates from 6 to 7 p.m. and the dance class from 7 to 8 p.m. on the same stage, which makes two straight hours of free programming. Konpa sessions are listed for October 28, November 11 and December 9.
Saturday morning stacks the same way, one block apart. UYoga at the Urban Gym ends at 10 a.m. The market has been open at Inter Stage since 9 a.m., and its directions put it just past the SW 9th Street crosswalk. The market listing describes local farmers, makers and small businesses, plus produce, artisan goods, food and music. It does not name individual vendors. One November calendar entry titled "UYoga | Urban Gym" gives Inter Stage as the venue in its description. If a Saturday class isn't at the Urban Gym, check across SW 8th Street.
The calendar also has some one-off dates:
- Sunday, October 18: HIIT & RUN, a free 60-minute workout with 30 minutes of HIIT followed by a group run, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Wednesdays, October 21, November 18 and December 16: Amigos Meet x The Underline's Walking with a Purpose, 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Hammock Playground.
- Tuesday, November 3: Roll Skate Club, a free session for experienced skaters, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The listing gives no venue.
The October to December entries include no movie nights and no dated public-art events. In the cooler months, the calendar is built around exercise, walking groups and the Saturday market.
Why it all happens between SW 7th and SW 9th
The schedule keeps coming back to two plazas because of how the Brickell Backyard is laid out. It is a series of distinct rooms, each tied to a cross street. Walking south from the river:
- River Room, between the Miami River and SW 7th Street, has river views, butterfly gardens, an open lawn and Hank Willis Thomas's sculpture Duality.
- Urban Gym, between SW 7th and SW 8th Streets, has a fenced Flex Court, mini-pitch soccer, body-weight equipment, a running track, seating and artwork by Bony Ramirez.
- The Promenade and Inter Stage. The Promenade runs from SW 8th Street to Brickell Metrorail station, with bike and pedestrian paths, game tables and a 50-foot communal dining table. Inter Stage sits at SW 8th Street and SW 1st Avenue.
- 11th St. Plaza, between SW 10th and SW 11th Streets beneath the Metromover, has a sculpture garden by Typoe.
- The Oolite Room, between SW 12th and SW 13th Streets, has butterfly gardens and a 90-foot mural.
- Hammock Playground, at SW 15th Road and SW 1st Avenue on the Hammock Trail, has nature play areas and public-art installations.
The Urban Gym and Inter Stage are the only two rooms built for a group. One has a running track and a court. The other is a stage with a plaza in front of it, right at the Metrorail station. Almost every session in the table above uses one of them. The farther rooms, River Room, 11th St. Plaza and the Oolite Room, have no fall events listed. They are the quieter parts of the half-mile, with art and butterfly gardens and no programming.
Vizcaya Station Plaza, at 3205 SW 1st Avenue, is the exception. Thursday UYoga meets there, at the south end of Phase 2. On a bike, it is close enough to make a Thursday evening loop out of the trail. That south end matters more now, because it will soon stop being the end.
The trail's south end is about to move
As of mid-September, the last three-mile segment of The Underline, through Coral Gables, was nearing completion. The Miami Herald reported on September 18 that the whole trail is expected to be finished later this year. Miami-Dade County describes Phase 3 as a 7.36-mile connection from SW 19th Avenue near Vizcaya to Dadeland South, with completion expected in 2026, and its project page gives no specific opening date. When it's done, the trail will run about 10 miles, from the Miami River in Brickell to the Dadeland South Metrorail station.
Some of the southern sections are already open. Chewy Bark Park, near LeJeune Road and Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Coral Gables, has separate areas for large and small dogs and an agility course. It held its opening celebration on January 31, 2026. The Underline also lists a Chewy Pack Walk there on October 15, November 19 and December 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. According to Underline originator Meg Daly, as reported by Miami Living Magazine, by the end of 2026 the Gables section will also have four pickleball courts, full and half-court basketball, an outdoor gym, a "microforest," community plazas and public art.
For Brickell, that changes the distance more than anything else. Today the Brickell Backyard is the north end of a trail that stops at SW 19th Avenue. After Phase 3 opens, a ride south from the Urban Gym on SW 1st Avenue can continue past Vizcaya Station Plaza to a dog park, pickleball courts and a microforest, all on the same path. The Herald also reported that the City of Miami, which has the longest stretch of the trail, has committed $1.5 million a year, rising 5% annually for the next five years, toward the trail's operating costs. That makes the Brickell Backyard one part of a single 10-mile park with a shared budget.
For now, the closest fixed dates are Wednesday evening at Inter Stage, Thursday evening at Vizcaya Station Plaza, and Saturday morning on the block between SW 7th and SW 9th Streets.
Public spaces like the Brickell Backyard factor into many conversations about which Brickell blocks offer the easiest daily access, from the Metrorail station to the river.
